Investing in stocks may be an intimidating experience, especially for beginners. Books About Investing in Stock Market Trading Marcia Halio, who drove up from Delaware with her husband to visit their daughter at Williams College in neighboring Williamstown, says she is very impressed by the level of art in Building 6. This was our sixth museum after a visit to NYC and the colorful Sol LeWitt wall paintings was my hands-down favorite exhibit, which I know I will never forget (it's also great for photos).“We want to make it impossible for people to visit MASS MoCA and the northern Berkshires and to leave after a few hours or even a day,” says MASS MoCA’s founding director, Joseph Thompson. “We want them to take the time to stay and shop around town and buy two to three meals before heading back home.” The ancient wood floors and brick walls-and glass windows offering views of the low-flow Hoosic River at this juncture, offer wonderful character and make it an exciting space all around. Unlike most museums, the staff members do not stand sentinel in every room but friendly, moving from room to room in their red polo shirts and are available to help you find your way. In general, the space is used well with large installations that are nicely showcased here. The spaces are enormous and it is fun to wander.though sometimes maze-like in trying to figure out where you are among the numerous buildings. This is a destination museum that is so worth the effort-from the approach in the parking lot to the upside-down tree installation (you have to see to believe) to the immersive experience of being in the massive galleries. It would have been nice if they were in tune to make playing with them more fun. We also enjoyed seeing the musical instruments made out of "found" materials. We also enjoyed the explorations of light in the John Turrell exhibit. Then you emerge into the mountains and finally in a room with images projected on the floor and ceilings were you walk on water and watch images turn into a dancer and then become abstract again. As you emerge from the forest, you see a giant cloud of chandeliers topped with statues and imagery exploring the concept of whether or not there's racism in heaven. You walk through a forest of sparkly ornaments and as you look closer, you begin to see bullets and guns amidst the sparkling beauty. We didn't have a lot of time so we asked which exhibits were the best in the massive museum and thoroughly enjoyed the Nick Case exhibit which was an exploration into racisim, violence and identity and it was an incredible immersive experience. I'm not usually a fan of modern art but this place was awesome. There is not much else to see in North Adams but there is another museum in Williamstown in Williams College. So North Adams is a better day trip than an overnight trip. The Williams in is an established but worn hotel in nearby Williamstown and only a few old-style strip motels in between. Note there seem to be two decent places to stay in North Adams. Cafe is available but in our experience, can't consistently handle the load and there is a long line to order. So navigating within the museum is difficult. If there are signs to identify galleries and buildings they will be VERY hard to find. Navigating within the museum requires a floor plan map and only a poor version of the map was available in mid-June. Traffic signs to this complex and its parking are few and far between in the city. But in that many galleries are empty, the many buildings and square feet will not keep a visitor from seeing it all in 2-3 hours. You know by now this museum is for contemporary art and is very big. Effective designers have avoided budget pitfalls with alternative shot layouts and creative use of the space they are afforded. Reviewer 44: “Brian Eddy has been thrusted back into a different era of pinball that requires wowing with less. Given the talent of Brian Eddy and the team he had to work with, I was hoping for something more special…” I’ll play it on location, but from what I have seen it isn’t something I would consider purchasing. Reviewer 65: “I guess I would just simply say it’s ok. But with such a familiar layout, the code, projector, and theme integration is going to be the make or break point of this pinball machine.” Reviewer 4: “Overall ,it is a familiar layout that has the potential of been something great. I will need to see how the projection works in real life to get a better feel for it, but I think it has enough potential at this point that I will give them extra credit for the innovation…” I am worried that it might be too challenging to the point that it would get frustrating. Reviewer 200: “The demogorgon toy does look like fun and could be quite a challenge. They went all in on the projector, which doesn’t add anything to gameplay or the physical fun of pinball we all love….” Reviewer 151: “The Demogorgon shot is sterile and unimpressive. Reviewer 158: “Give props to Stern for trying new technology with projection mapping but I think it falls short, the game looks barren and there’s simply not enough there compared to other games that have better mechanisms…” The projector screen(s) are impressive and they integrate well with gameplay…” Innovation abounds on this title (for the Premium/LE trim) and this is exactly what pinball needs to continue to innovate. Reviewer 166: “There is no question on this – they have outdone themselves on this aspect of the game. The center shots are quite deadly as drop targets…” It looks to play very smoothly and shots appear to feel quite nice. Reviewer 37: “The layout looks to be a now fairly standard fan layout from the master of the fan. I applaud Stern for introducing some new technology with the projection mapping but it’s quite literally underwhelming with relying on this versus some real ball interaction mechanisms…” Reviewer 158: “After a 20+ year hiatus of Brian Eddy the expectations were very strong for this new title and this game falls short. Reviewer 200: “The layout may not be new or innovative, but it does use a proven design that has remained at the top of the charts for quite some time…” The featured mech, while fitting of the theme, lacks the punch and wow factor it could and should have…” Shot geometry seems good, with the exception of the right ramp. Reviewer 44: “On the simple side, possibly too much so. Reviewer 12: “Obviously designer Brian Eddy played it pretty safe and based this fan layout on the much loved Attack from Mars I do find of few interesting quirks like how the right inner loop feeds the the left outer orbit (could have been a boring horseshoe around the centre drop targets)…” TIPS FOR MAKING EASY HAM AND CHEESE PASTA SALAD MORE PASTA SALAD RECIPES Easy Pasta Salad Easy Macaroni Salad Easy Greek Pasta Salad Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad Just cover it tightly and continue to enjoy the pasta salad for the next few days. This Mercedes saloon offers an impressive 62-mile all-electric range that makes its BMW 330e rival look a little bit inferior. Low running costs and efficiency are two terms that will put a smile on anyone’s face, so it’s a good thing the Mercedes C300e has both. There’s plenty of room for up to five people too, if you opt for the larger Active Tourer trim. From plush leathers to a large infotainment screen, the 2 Series has got it all. The interior is where it really shines, and if you’ve ever been in a BMW before then you’ll know what to expect. Its 54-mile range works best in city environments because it means you can drive through almost any city in silent electric mode and avoid any nasty congestion charges. Posh MPVs don’t come around all that often, but when something like the BMW 2 Series hybrid shows up, it gives families another option apart from an SUV or estate car. The RAV4’s onboard 18.1kWh electric motor, which has a range of 46 miles, is reliable, hard-wearing and tried and tested, meaning you don’t need to worry too much about anything going wrong.Īfter all, Toyota does stand for reliability, and more than 80 years of making cars can testify to that.ĭriving on electric power alone is a standard feature for plug-in hybrids but being able to manage the two simultaneously is less so – but the BMW X5 xDrive45e nails it.īy using the navigation, it’s able to determine the best fuel for your journey, so if you’re in a city it’ll switch to electric-only, but on a motorway, it’ll balance the two to be as efficient as possible. With an excellent 46-mile range from its 18.1kWh battery, the Suzuki is efficient and economical – everything its Toyota relative stands for. This doesn’t quite make it as sporty as the top-spec A45 AMG model, but it also doesn’t mean you’ll be left behind at the lights either.īased on the popular Toyota RAV4, the Suzuki Across is a family SUV designed to undercut its rivals including Skoda, Mazda and Peugeot. Now available as a plug-in hybrid, it makes perfect sense for city-dwellers because you get up to 40 miles of electric range from its onboard 13kWh battery that’s backed by a reliable 1.4-litre petrol engine. If you’re after a more premium hatchback, there are very few options more attractive than the Audi A3. It also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too, if you don’t fancy using the onboard Skoda Connect system. Inside, the Octavia is a pleasant place to be, with high-quality soft-touch materials, a great infotainment system and comfortable seats. This means that most town and city driving can be done on electric power alone, which is great if you regularly drive in a congestion zone. Sitting alongside the 1.4-litre petrol engine is an electric motor that Skoda claims will give you up to 34 miles of electric-only driving. It also comes as a plug-in hybrid – and that’s the real star. It offers great practicality, comfort, tech and looks. In its standard form, the Skoda Octavia is a brilliant car. |
